ZTE launches driver-free, 42M data card

Compatible with Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and Mac OS

ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network offerings, has launched a new next-generation 42M data card (dongle), the MF680, which is a network-agnostic, driver-free dongle.

The company said the MF680 is capable of download speed of 42Mbps and can establish an Internet connection within 15 seconds by attaching via a USB port.

The new dongle does not require any hardware or software installation, and can be used with Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and Mac OS.

Utilising the continuous packet connectivity (CPC) technology, MF680 which can double both the number of online users and the network's VOIP user capacity, by enhancing network efficiency and avoiding network congestion, said the company.

Users can manage the device and online services such as messaging and contact lists by using the MF680's Web UI (user interface), which can be customised by operators to enable online upgrades and promotions.
