ZTE Releases Future-Proof Optical Transport Network Device
Monday, June 27, 2011: ZTE Corporation (ZTE), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced that has released a compact optical transport network (OTN) metro edge layer device, the ZXMP M721, that further builds ZTE's ability to deliver future-proof end-to-end metro transport networks.
The trend towards All-IP telecommunications services, and the evolution of IP networks, brings huge challenges to transport networks. Fixed/mobile network convergence and cluster router deployment also require that the transport network should have multi-service bearing capability, higher bandwidth and adaptability to a MESH typology structure. In response to these trends, ZTE released the new generation iOTN transport platform in late 2010, including the ZXONE 8000, ZXWM M920 and ZXMP M820 series products.
