ZTE Recognized in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for FTTH Equipment

The Chinese telecom equipment and solutions provider ZTE Corporation announced it has been recognized in Gartner’s (News  - Alert) Magic Quadrant (MQ) report for 2010 in the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) category. “We are honored to be one of the Fiber-to-the-Home solution leaders recognized by Gartner’s Magic Quadrant Report,” said Xu Ming, vice president of ZTE (News - Alert), in a statement. “We believe it is a positive appraisal of our solutions and demonstrates ZTE’s strength in the EPON and GPON field.”“ZTE’s fixed broadband solutions are currently leading the development of FTTX technology and we are confident of providing our customers with state-of-art solutions and products in fixed broadband access,” Ming added.Gartner’s research report offers a detailed analysis of the global FTTH equipment market. Gartner Magic Quadrants position equipment vendors within a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and their ability to execute on that vision. The telecom equipment vendor demonstrated its leadership as it sustained growth in the FTTx market and achieved market share in the past few years. Besides market share, ZTE made progress in the next generation access technologies as well.As part of its FTTx initiatives, ZTE launched the ZXA10 xPON passive optical network, an advanced platform for network construction and service upgrade of the access network. The passive optical network assisted operators to build the FTTX network cost-effectively. ZTE’s xPON products have been used in many countries and regions such as Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.Recently, ZTE and BroadLogic Network Technologies, a supplier of mixed-signal semiconductor solutions for digital cable TV markets, announced a solution for using Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) infrastructure to deliver broadcast-quality video services to digital TVs for new business video services.
