ZTE HC100 STB Wins the "Best Home Media Device or Service" Awarded by TV Connect
28 April 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK/000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the launch of its ZXV10 HC100 home cloud storage set-top box (STB) at TV Connect, London. Integrating 4K video, smart home, home cloud storage and home content delivery network (CDN) functions, the STB won the Best Home Media Device or Service Award for its innovative performance.
The ZXV10 HC100 is a converged STB, which integrates the industry-leading super 4-core central processing unit (CPU) (up to 2.0 Ghz) and special 3D graphics processing unit (GPU) to realize ultra-high definition (UHD) 4K (3840×2160@60 frames per second (fps) 10-Bit colour) and provide users with an excellent video experience. Based on the open Android 5.1 operating system (OS) and supporting Java virtual machine (JVM) for value-added services, the HC100 can provide smart home services such as smart appliance and multi-screen interaction. Through the autonomous network, multiple devices can be interconnected. You can use your smart phone as a remote control or mouse to share videos among PC and TV screens. In addition, the HC100 is equipped with a built-in 2.5-inch hard disk to support home cloud network attached storage (NAS). Through Samba, file management, disk diagnosis and disk sleep functions, the storage data can be well managed and controlled. The STB also supports Home CDN, offline caching, and peer-to-peer (P2P) modes to help TV operators realize off-peak download and minimize the 4K service’s impact on the network. The P2P mode supports deploying CDN to the user side to improve a user’s video experience.
With the rapid development of the Internet of things (IoT), cloud service and big data technologies, 2016 will be the year when the smart home service grows explosively. ZTE’s timely launch of the ZXV10 HC100 with UHD 4K (3840×2160@60fps), home cloud storage, home CDN, smart home, and abundant apps, further consolidates its leading position in the global STB market. According to the 2015 Global Interactive TV Report published by Infonetics, ZTE occupies the largest share of the global Internet protocol (IP) STB market. As a leader in the IP STB industry, ZTE will build on its HC100 platform and use IoT, home cloud and big data technologies to develop a home media center, realizing the safe, low-carbon, comfortable and caring smart home lifestyle.
