China Mobile has been playing a leading role in the development of the mobile communications industry in China and holding an important position in the international arena as well. It ranks No.1 in the world in terms of the network scale and customer quantity.
After several years of rigorous testing and large-scale commercial trial, China Mobile chose TD-SCDMA technology to construct its 3G network. On April 1, 2008, China Mobile launched 3G services provided by its TD-SCDMA network to the public in 10 Chinese big cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. In August 2008, the TD-SCDMA network also served the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with great success.

Continuous Innovation Helps CMCC to Save TCO Effectively
Focusing on the realistic demand of China Mobile, ZTE provides series of targeted solutions including multi-channel solution, HSPA MX solution, smart antenna miniaturization solution, fiber distributed base station solution, GPS single star solution, SDR universal platform solution and etc.. These solutions now are scale commercial in China mobile’s network and become industry standards.
In particular, smart antenna miniaturization solution, fiber distributed base station solution, GPS single star solution met series requirements of China Mobile, and ensured China Mobile to catch the first opportunity in the fierce market competition. Finally China Mobile became the first operator who can provide HSDPA high-speed wireless service in China. The HSPA MX solution can double throughput without any additional hardware, thus it improves utilization of spectrum resources and reduces cost of data services significantly.
In addition, the leading ZTE SDR solution can support multi-standard RF module working in the same base station, such as between GSM and TD-SCDMA, or between the TD-SCDMA and LTE. Furthermore, the SDR base station can be evolved to HSPA+, LTE smoothly, which can ensure China Mobile's network into future technologies in time and to keep long-term competitiveness, and it can also extend the life cycle of equipments.
China Mobile pursued the goal that reducing the TCO at all times. According to the actual situation of China Mobile, ZTE recommended China Mobile adopted ZTE’ s distributed base stations, with a small, light, flexible, easy to install characteristics, and it can easily coexist with the existing GSM site.
